1. Purpose and Relationship to Other Documents
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes what you may not do when using the Wordmuse Service. It supplements our Terms of Service, and a violation of this AUP is a violation of the Terms of Service. Because the Service is built using a third-party AI provider’s technology, Wordmuse is itself bound by that provider’s usage policy; this AUP is written to be at least as protective as that policy, adapted to Wordmuse’s product and its user base of students, including minors.
2. Prohibited Uses — Zero Tolerance
The following are strictly prohibited, will result in immediate account termination, and, where legally required, will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or other appropriate authorities:
2.1 Generating, requesting, uploading, or distributing any content that sexualizes, exploits, endangers, or abuses a minor, in any form, including fictional or written descriptions.
2.2 Attempting to use the Service to groom, inappropriately contact, or solicit personal information from another person for a harmful purpose.
2.3Attempting to bypass, disable, or circumvent the Service’s age-verification, guardian-consent, or content-safety controls.
3. Other Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service to:
3.1 Harass or Harm
Bully, harass, threaten, shame, or celebrate the suffering of any person.
3.2 Deceive or Defraud
Impersonate another person; generate content for scams, phishing, or fraud; or misrepresent Wordmuse-generated content as coming from a human counselor or reviewer.
3.3 Compromise Security
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, probe or scan its infrastructure, or interfere with its normal operation.
3.4 Generate Unlawful, Violent, or Hateful Content
Generate content that is unlawful, incites violence, or promotes hatred against individuals or groups.
3.5 Generate Sexually Explicit Content
Generate sexual or romantic content of any kind.
3.6 Engage in Political Campaigning
Use the Service for political lobbying, campaigning, or soliciting votes or donations.
3.7 Scrape, Reverse-Engineer, or Misappropriate the Service
Use bots, crawlers, scripts, or other automated means to access or collect data from the Service (except assistive technology used for accessibility); scrape or harvest its content; attempt to extract, reveal, or reconstruct Wordmuse’s system prompts, instructions, models, writing archetypes, scoring, or other proprietary logic; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service; use the Service or its output to build or train a competing product or AI model; or resell or otherwise commercially exploit the Service or its output. (See Terms of Service Section 5.5.)
4. Academic Integrity
4.1 Consistent with Section 3.2 of the Terms of Service, you may not use the Service to generate a complete, submission-ready essay, personal statement, or other work product for you to submit as your own original writing. The Service is designed to guide your own writing process — brainstorming, structural feedback, and revision suggestions — not to produce a finished submission.
4.2 You may not use the Service to complete an assignment on behalf of another person, or to circumvent the academic-integrity or honor-code policy of any school or program.
4.3 You are responsible for complying with the academic-integrity and disclosure policies of any school or program to which you submit work that was informed by the Service.
5. AI Disclosure
As stated in the Terms of Service, you are interacting with an AI system, not a human. This is disclosed at the start of your use of the Service. AI-generated feedback may be inaccurate or incomplete, and you should apply your own judgment before relying on it.
6. High-Risk and Regulated Use
The Service provides educational feedback and is not intended to make or substantially influence admissions, grading, accreditation, or other consequential decisions about you without your own judgment and, where appropriate, review by a teacher, counselor, or other qualified person.
7. Reporting Misuse
If you become aware of a violation of this AUP, including any content that may endanger a minor, please report it immediately to contact@wordmuse.ai. Reports involving apparent child sexual abuse material are handled under Wordmuse’s Child Safety Program, including reporting to NCMEC’s CyberTipline where legally required.
8. Enforcement
Wordmuse may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate access for a violation of this AUP, in its discretion and proportionate to the violation — except that the zero-tolerance violations in Section 2 result in immediate termination and, where legally required, a report to appropriate authorities. Enforcement under this AUP is in addition to, and does not limit, Wordmuse’s rights under the Terms of Service.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time, consistent with the amendment provisions of the Terms of Service.
10. Contact
Questions about this AUP may be directed to contact@wordmuse.ai.
