이용약관 · Terms of Service (Korea)

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Wordmuse Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“Wordmuse”), governing your access to and use of the Wordmuse website, application, and related services (the “Service”). They apply to users located in South Korea. Our Korean Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy form part of this agreement.

These Terms take effect when you accept them at signup. We may amend them where there is a legitimate reason to do so. We will post any amendment at least 7 days before it takes effect, and at least 30 days before for an amendment that is unfavourable to you, stating what changed and when it takes effect. If you do not accept an unfavourable amendment you may terminate before it takes effect; if we told you that silence would be taken as acceptance and you neither accept nor terminate, you are treated as having accepted.

You must be at least 14 to use the Service. We refuse signup below that age before storing any information.

If you are under 19, your legal guardian must approve your account and is the party who enters into the subscription contract and pays for it. This is because the Korean Civil Act treats a contract made by a minor without their guardian’s consent as voidable — the guardian may cancel it. It is a contract-validity requirement, not a statement that you are too young to make decisions about your own personal information: from 14 you exercise your own privacy rights directly, as our Privacy Policy explains.

Where these Terms refer to obligations of the account holder, the guardian is bound as the contracting party and the student is bound as the user of the Service.

Wordmuse coaches you on your own writing. It is not a ghostwriting service. You agree to use it to develop your own work and not to submit machine-generated text as your own where the institution receiving it forbids that. Admissions bodies set their own rules on AI assistance; complying with them is your responsibility, and a breach of them is a breach of these Terms. Our Acceptable Use Policy sets out what is prohibited.

Your coach is an AI, not a human. Its output is machine-generated, may be wrong, and must not be treated as professional advice of any kind. Wordmuse does not guarantee any admissions outcome. We do not use your essays, conversations, or Memories to train any AI model.

What you write stays yours. You grant Wordmuse only the licence needed to operate the Service for you — to store, process, display, and back up your content so the Service can function. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep to comply with law. We do not acquire ownership of your essays, and we do not use them to train AI models.

Paid plans are billed in advance on the cycle shown at checkout. For an account belonging to a user under 19, the guardian is the payer and the contracting party.

You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Korean consumer-protection law gives you rights of withdrawal (청약철회) and refund that apply in addition to anything in these Terms, and nothing here limits them.

You may terminate at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where required by law. Except where a breach is serious enough to require immediate action, we will give you notice and an opportunity to respond first. Where we terminate for reasons other than your breach, we refund the unused portion of any prepaid fee.

The Service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. Nothing in this section excludes liability that Korean law does not permit to be excluded, including liability for intent or gross negligence and liability for personal injury.

To the extent Korean law permits, Wordmuse’s aggregate liability arising out of the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limit does not apply to liability for intent or gross negligence, or to any liability that cannot be limited under Korean law.

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Korean Privacy Policy, with a plain-language version for students at 아동·청소년 개인정보처리방침. Your personal information is transferred to the United States for processing; we take that consent separately.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, except that the mandatory consumer-protection law of South Korea applies where it cannot be waived by agreement, and prevails over these Terms to the extent of any conflict.

You may bring a dispute to the Korea Consumer Agency or another competent dispute-resolution body, and to the Korean courts. For a dispute about personal information, the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (1833-6972) is available, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

The binding-arbitration and class-action-waiver provisions in our United States Terms are not applied to you where Korean law does not permit them.
